The
Rising Stars programme, sponsored by Westland Horticulture, has got off to a
flying start as participants attended the first masterclass at Westland
Horticulture’s merchandising lab in Peterborough recently.
The
class was delivered by trainer, Ian Boardman, who gave advice and tips on
merchandising, opportunities for business growth and managing the seasons to
make maximum sales and profits.
We
have a fantastic calibre of candidates for the programme so the competition
will be extremely tough. They all demonstrated great enthusiasm throughout the
day.
The
Rising Stars will be putting everything they learnt into practice at their own
garden centres and will measure their successes ready for the next masterclass
taking place in June.
Twenty-eight
potential Rising Stars attended the event and will go on to take part in the
second masterclass in June, however the number will be cut down to 10 for the
September class and from those 10, five will be chosen as finalists to attend
the GCA Conference in Chester in January.
