Hurry...to get your conference place!

IF YOU are wishing to attend our annual conference in January (2014) sign up soon to secure your place.

The conference, which takes place from January 26 until 29, 2014 at the Hilton Blackpool Hotel will include talks from top speakers, latest news from the industry and networking opportunities.

Our Chief Executive, Iain Wylie, said: “We have had a great run on bookings and numbers so far and expect this year’s conference to be one of our biggest and best yet. Places are filling up fast so if you want to secure a place we suggest getting in touch soon to avoid disappointment.

“We are offering a discount of 10% for full tables of 10 at the annual dinner and, for garden centres wishing to bring staff to one of the day sessions on Monday or Tuesday, we will be offering a free sixth place with every five booked. To book, please visit the members’ section of our website via www.gca.org.uk. Sponsorship slots have filled up well too but there are still one or two left so would urge companies interested in this to give me a call.

“The line-up of speakers for the conference this year is inspiring. In particular, we can’t wait to hear from Dr Steve Peters, the psychiatrist behind the GB Olympic cycling team, who will be sharing his secrets of how to perform at the optimum level.

“We are also looking forward to hearing from Dave Fishwick, star of Channel 4’s Bank of Dave, who has a fascinating story to tell. He’ll be sharing his thoughts on entrepreneurial zeal. This is definitely a talk not to miss.”

The conference will also include the results of the annual inspections and a range of prestigious awards will be presented.

Iain added: “The Industry Networks’ night will take place on Monday, January 27 and will have a special seaside theme in celebration of our beach location. It is an event designed for garden centre and associate members alike, with the opportunity to network and have some fun. Beachwear is optional but definitely encouraged!

“During the evening on Tuesday, January 28 our gala dinner will take place, where we will announce the garden centre winners and the Associate of the Year.

“With the new venue, a great line-up of speakers and plenty of opportunities to catch up with old friends from the industry, the conference is set to be a fantastic event. We hope to see lots of you there.”

The conference, which is supported by headline sponsors Davidson Richards and Westland Horticulture, takes place at the Hilton Blackpool Hotel in Blackpool from January 26 until 29. More than 300 delegates are expected to attend.
